Integrated Project Logistics

International Land Rig Moves. Offshore Rig Parts. One Controlled Logistics Desk.

For complete land rigs, an international move is not one shipment. It is a controlled program connecting the rig owner, drilling contractor, operator, rental terms, equipment register, rig-down release, heavy transport, ports, vessels, customs, destination sequence, return obligations, and the next operating deadline. For offshore rigs, OGL’s scope is deliberately narrower: we move the spares, parts, tools, rental items, and repair returns the offshore unit needs—not the rig itself.

OGL provides the senior-led logistics control layer around that program. We turn disconnected requirements into one responsibility map, one readiness sequence, one operating picture, and one closeout trail—so the client can remain focused on drilling, asset readiness, and the next well.

Rig Logistics Control Room

Treat every land-rig module and offshore part as a controlled asset.

For complete land rigs, the move basis connects ownership, equipment schedules, release, transport sequence, destination readiness and closeout. For offshore rigs, OGL moves only the spares, parts, tools and repair returns required to support the unit. Every scope keeps cargo identity, customs status, custody, receipt and responsible technical authority visible.

One register. One release plan. One controlled sequence.

OGL coordinates complete land-rig logistics and offshore parts movement. OGL does not transport, tow, relocate, or operate intact offshore rigs or MODUs. Rig-down, rig-up, lifting, engineering, offshore operations, technical acceptance, and operating authority remain with the contractually appointed qualified parties.

This Is Land-Rig Move and Offshore-Parts Program Control—Not Generic Freight Forwarding.

For land-rig moves, the basis begins with ownership, contract responsibilities, rig configuration, current condition, move state, origin, destination, operating deadline, technical releases, equipment identity, packing, preservation, permits, customs treatment, export controls, dangerous goods, available infrastructure, local-provider capability, and final disposition. Offshore support begins with the approved part or equipment identity, release, packaging, customs status, accepted route, supply-base or vessel handoff, field receipt, and any return obligation.

OGL personally drives the logistics interfaces. We contact responsible parties, expose missing inputs, track actions and approvals, coordinate qualified providers, maintain movement and customs status, and escalate the decision required. The client receives facts, owners, due dates, exposure, and next steps—not a stack of disconnected carrier updates.

The Rig Logistics Control Room

Control Gate Core Question OGL Control Output
Define What land rig, offshore support item, scope, contract, countries, deadline, and responsibilities govern the program? Basis of movement, assumptions register, responsibility matrix, information-gap list
Release Is each asset technically released, isolated, identified, packed, preserved, classified, documented, and accepted? Asset and package register, readiness forecast, document status, hold-point log
Route Are route, equipment, permits, lift interfaces, terminal, vessel, carrier, custody, and schedule aligned for the awarded cargo scope? Movement sequence, provider matrix, booking and permit status, daily operating picture
Clear Are export, import, temporary admission, tax, security, DG, biosecurity, and destination requirements satisfied? Customs identity register, broker and authorization status, exception and deadline tracker
Deliver Can the land-rig site or offshore receiving interface accept the cargo in the required order, window, condition, and access plan? Arrival and staging plan, delivery sequence, supply-base or site-readiness register, proof of handover
Reconcile Have temporary entries, returns, repairs, substitutions, consumptions, damage, claims, and outstanding assets been closed? Final asset reconciliation, customs closeout, shipment dossier, outstanding-action register

Complete Land Rig Moves

01

Tender assumptions, responsibility mapping, equipment and package registers, international mobilization, destination sequence, demobilization, return, repair, storage, sale, or redeployment of complete land rigs are controlled as one lifecycle.

Onshore Rig Moves

02

Land-rig programs connect rig-down release, heavy-haul capacity, route and permit control, fleet sequence, staging, cranes and rigging interfaces, journey management, wellsite access, and delivery to the owner’s rig-up plan.

Offshore Rig Parts & Spares Logistics

03

For jack-ups, semi-submersibles, drillships, and other offshore units, OGL coordinates only the supporting spares, parts, tools, rental items, repair returns, approved cargo units, customs, supply-base handoff, vessel acceptance, field receipt, and backload interfaces. OGL does not move, tow, dry-transport, relocate, or operate the intact offshore rig or MODU.

Rig Spares & Repair Returns

04

Critical and planned parts are controlled from confirmed identity and release through export, transport, customs, field receipt, core return, repair-center status, recertification handoff, and customs reconciliation.

Mobilization Compliance

04

Customs identity, export jurisdiction, restricted-party screening, temporary admission, dangerous goods, container and packing controls, used-equipment cleanliness, regulated exceptions, and re-export closure receive named owners and release evidence.

05

One Rig Register. One Responsibility Map.

The controlled rig register can connect asset or package identity, owner, rental reference, description, make/model, serial and part numbers, quantity, condition, country of origin, value, weight, dimensions, center of gravity where required, package, preservation, dangerous-goods status, customs classification, export status, temporary-entry line, release, movement, custody, exception, destination receipt, repair, substitution, consumption, and final disposition.

That register does not replace the owner’s asset-management system. It becomes the shared logistics and customs operating record needed to prevent a land-rig module, offshore spare, tool, core, certificate, or temporary-entry obligation from disappearing between organizations.

06

07

Available for Defined Work Packages and Prequalification.

OGL can engage as a prime logistics coordinator, a specialist land-rig move work-package provider, an offshore parts logistics desk, or an extension of an operator, drilling contractor, rig owner, rental company, OEM, EPC contractor, or supply-chain team. Scope, authority, staffing, systems, reporting, country coverage, providers, insurance, HSE requirements, and technical interfaces are confirmed before commitment.

We do not claim to operate rigs, perform drilling, conduct rig-down or rig-up, issue engineering, command vessels, execute towing, move intact offshore rigs, act as class or marine warranty authority, make customs rulings, or replace OEM technical acceptance. Those responsibilities remain with the contractually appointed qualified parties.

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers for procurement, project controls, logistics, and site teams evaluating the execution path.

01
Can OGL coordinate a complete land rig move overseas?

OGL can coordinate the international logistics program for a complete land rig move, subject to an approved basis of move, responsibility matrix, equipment data, country requirements, provider qualification, insurance, technical releases, and contract scope. This capability does not extend to movement, towing, dry transport, relocation, or operation of intact offshore rigs or MODUs.

02
Can OGL support both rented and owner-operated rigs?

Yes. The intake must identify the owner, lessee or operator, drilling contractor, rental terms, maintenance and damage responsibilities, equipment schedules, substitutions, return condition, customs treatment, and final destination so the logistics register aligns with the commercial contract.

03
Can OGL move a land rig from one country directly to another?

Potentially. Onward land-rig redeployment requires review of the current import regime, re-export requirements, new destination rules, export controls, owner and contract approvals, remaining consumables, repairs, substitutions, clean condition, transport options, and final closeout obligations before a routing commitment is made.

04
Does OGL move intact offshore rigs or MODUs?

No. OGL’s offshore scope is limited to the logistics of spares, parts, tools, rental items, repair returns, and approved support cargo. Movement, towing, dry transport, relocation, positioning, and operation of intact offshore rigs or MODUs are not offered.
