One resin. Three very different execution paths.
OGL does not force the cargo into a standard format. We organize the product, quantity, loading equipment, destination capability, route limits, and customer acceptance requirements so the qualified parties can confirm a workable packaging and transport plan.
Lined drybulk container
For compatible pellet programs with qualified loading and receiving systems. Liner design, loading connection, venting, legal payload, and discharge method are confirmed before execution.
FIBC / super sack
For flexible lot control and mechanized handling. Bag rating, liner, safe working load, lifting method, static classification, and receiver equipment remain part of the working file.
Bagged and palletized
For mixed grades, distributor inventory, and destinations without bulk discharge. Pallet pattern, moisture protection, lot separation, markings, weights, and stuffing controls are documented.
No universal payload or packaging answer: resin bulk density, bag or liner rating, container tare, road limits, axle distribution, carrier limits, and verified gross mass determine the final loading plan.
Resin Is Simple to Identify. The Movement Is Not.
Resin shipments require more than an ocean booking. Polymer identity, grade, lot, packaging, bulk density, contamination sensitivity, moisture exposure, transfer equipment, receiver capability, customs data, and legal payload all shape the execution plan.
OGL organizes those interfaces into one working file. We coordinate qualified suppliers, packaging and loading partners, truckers, warehouses, ocean carriers, customs brokers, and destination providers while remaining your central point for communication, milestone follow-up, and exception escalation.
Three Practical Packaging Paths
Integrated Project Procurement
OGL can source, purchase, and resell approved equipment and materials under an agreed commercial scope. We coordinate supplier communication, order status, document collection, inspection interfaces, packing readiness, origin logistics, and final delivery. The client retains approval of technical specifications, approved makes, and project acceptance criteria unless the contract states otherwise. We do not perform design engineering or act as an owner’s engineer, but we ensure that the commercial and logistical aspects of procurement are executed effectively. By managing the commercial interfaces, we reduce the administrative burden on your procurement department and ensure that suppliers meet their contractual obligations.
Global Logistics Management
We plan and execute the physical movement of your cargo. From origin consolidation and export packing to heavy lift, ship chartering, and final-mile delivery, OGL manages the carriers, facilities, and specialized partners required to execute the plan safely and on schedule. We evaluate the specific requirements of each cargo piece, selecting the appropriate transport modes and routing options to minimize risk and optimize delivery timelines. Our logistics management encompasses everything from standard containerized freight to out-of-gauge modules that require specialized handling and engineered transport solutions.
Smaller Bags on Export Pallets
Bagged resin can support smaller lots, multiple grades, distributor programs, and destinations without pneumatic receiving systems. The export plan may include interlocked stacking, pallet protection, stretch wrapping, moisture controls, lot separation, labels and markings, container inspection, weight distribution, and documented stuffing through an approved facility.

OGL Coordinates the Work Around the Resin
Supplier Sourcing and Commercial Follow-Up
When procurement support is required, OGL helps organize supplier outreach, specification alignment, quote comparison, follow-up, purchase-order milestones, and the handover from commercial release to physical logistics. We do not substitute a generic resin for an approved material; the customer's technical requirements remain the basis for sourcing and release.
Quality, Lot, and Release Coordination
OGL tracks the information needed to connect the ordered product to the cargo being shipped, including grade, lot, quantity, packaging, certificate of analysis, safety data, release status, and any inspection or sampling requirements defined by the buyer.
Packaging and Loading Management
We coordinate the selected packaging provider and loading facility, container positioning, equipment readiness, weights, counts, photographs, seals, and loading records. For pneumatic programs, the working plan confirms the transfer connection, air-return or venting method, liner retention, grounding or static controls where applicable, spill response materials, and destination discharge compatibility.
Ocean Freight and Port Coordination
OGL manages the booking path, container equipment, drayage, terminal cutoffs, verified gross mass data, bill-of-lading instructions, vessel milestones, transshipment visibility, and destination release through the appropriate licensed and qualified parties.
Import Customs and Final Delivery
For inbound programs, we coordinate document readiness with the importer and customs broker, monitor arrival and availability, organize terminal or warehouse recovery, and arrange final delivery to the customer's warehouse, plant, processor, or approved receiving facility.
Resin Cargo Controls Built Into the Plan
Product identity: Polymer, grade, formulation, color, additive package, virgin or recycled status, lot, and approved substitution rules.
Cargo classification: Current SDS review, transport status, customs classification, export-control data, and destination requirements based on the actual product.
Contamination prevention: Clean transfer equipment, compatible liner or packaging, container-condition inspection, closed connections, lot separation, and documented housekeeping.
Moisture protection: Packaging barrier, container condition, desiccant or other controls when specified, weather exposure limits, and sealed-cargo integrity.
Pellet-loss prevention: Closed transfer, secondary containment, drain protection where required, cleanup equipment, inspection, and immediate recovery of any spilled pellets.
Static and dust controls: Product- and environment-specific grounding, conductive or dissipative packaging, ventilation, ignition-source control, and qualified review when the SDS or process requires it.
Weight and distribution: Net weight, packaging tare, container tare, legal road limits, axle distribution, carrier limits, liner rating, and verified gross mass.
Receiver readiness: Discharge connection, storage capacity, unloading method, labor, forklifts or lifting equipment, appointment, and empty-equipment return.
The Resin Shipment Sequence
Define the product and commercial scope: Confirm polymer, grade, quantity, origin, destination, Incoterm, required date, sourcing status, and customer acceptance requirements.
Choose the workable shipping format: Compare lined bulk, FIBC, bagged, and specialized options against total volume, loading equipment, receiver capability, route constraints, and handling risk.
Qualify the execution parties: Align the supplier, packaging provider, loading facility, trucking, carrier, broker, warehouse, and destination provider to the approved scope.
Control the release file: Collect the purchase order, commercial data, certificate of analysis, SDS, packing or weight information, and any inspection or sampling record.
Prepare and load the container: Inspect the equipment, install or stage the approved packaging, complete loading under controlled conditions, document the work, confirm weight, and apply the seal.
File and verify shipping data: Coordinate export filing data when required, customs information, bill-of-lading instructions, verified gross mass, origin documents, and destination pre-arrival data.
Track the ocean movement: Follow terminal gate-in, vessel departure, transshipment, arrival, customs status, availability, and exceptions through one OGL communication path
Complete destination delivery: Coordinate release, unloading or discharge, final delivery, empty return, proof of receipt, and issue closeout.
Documents and Data Aligned Before Departure
The exact file varies by product, country, contract, and shipment structure. OGL coordinates the required parties around a working document set that may include:
Commercial invoice and purchase-order reference.
Packing list, weight statement, bag count, lot list, or bulk-loading record.
Certificate of analysis, quality certificate, or inspection record required by the buyer.
Current safety data sheet and dangerous-goods declaration only when the product classification requires it.
Certificate of origin, preferential-origin support, permits, registrations, or product statements required for the destination.
Schedule B or export classification data, Electronic Export Information filing instructions when applicable, and current import tariff classification.
Bill-of-lading instructions, seal number, container number, verified gross mass, and carrier documentation.
Photographs, container-condition record, liner or packaging specification, loading report, and exception record when included in the approved scope.
Resins in primary forms are commonly classified within Chapter 39, but there is no universal code for “resin.” The polymer, composition, form, and current national tariff schedule determine the correct classification. OGL coordinates with the shipper, importer, and licensed customs professionals so the commercial and transport data align with the actual product.

Decision Support
Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers for procurement, project controls, logistics, and site teams evaluating the execution path.
Can OGL coordinate resin pellets loaded pneumatically into an ocean container?
Yes. OGL can coordinate qualified liner, loading, trucking, ocean, customs, and destination providers for a compatible program. The resin, bulk density, liner design, container, transfer equipment, legal payload, air return, receiver connection, and discharge plan must be confirmed before execution.
How do we choose between a dry-bulk liner, FIBCs, and smaller bags?
The choice depends on quantity, lot control, packaging cost, origin loading equipment, destination unloading equipment, product sensitivity, route limits, handling frequency, customer preference, and program volume. OGL organizes those facts so the shipper and qualified providers can select a workable structure.
Can OGL help source resin as well as move it?
Yes. OGL can support supplier outreach, specification alignment, quote follow-up, commercial coordination, and the transition from purchase-order release into logistics execution. The buyer retains technical approval of the resin and supplier.
Are plastic resins dangerous goods?
Many common resin pellets are transported as non-dangerous goods, but OGL does not classify cargo from the generic product name. The current SDS, formulation, additives, powder or dust characteristics, packaging, and applicable transport rules must be reviewed for the actual material.
How does OGL reduce pellet loss during loading and transit?
The execution plan emphasizes closed transfer, sound packaging, liner and connection integrity, secondary containment, drain protection where required, housekeeping, documented inspections, and immediate recovery of any spilled pellets. The loading and receiving parties remain responsible for following the approved site procedures.
How much resin fits in one lined ocean container?
There is no responsible universal answer. Payload depends on resin bulk density, container size and tare, liner rating, loading method, legal road weights, axle distribution, carrier limits, route restrictions, and the verified gross mass. OGL develops the shipment plan from the actual product and route data.
Can OGL coordinate imports into the United States and exports from Houston?
Yes. OGL can coordinate both inbound and outbound programs through Houston and other approved origins or destinations, including supplier communication, ocean freight, broker coordination, warehouse or bulk-transfer planning, and final delivery.
