Integrated Project Logistics
EPC Project Logistics From Bid Strategy to Site Delivery.
Capital projects need a logistics plan that begins before freight is ready. OGL connects preliminary cargo data, supplier geography, route feasibility, packing, release, transport, customs, local delivery, and site interfaces under one accountable execution desk.
We support owners, EPC contractors, developers, and prime contractors with defined logistics work packages—not generic freight transactions disconnected from the project schedule.
One work package. One responsibility map.

The Logistics Basis Belongs Up Front.
Early logistics input helps the project identify data gaps, critical interfaces, possible route constraints, packaging needs, long-lead transport decisions, customs considerations, and site-receiving requirements before they become late-stage exceptions. OGL translates the available project information into a controlled logistics basis and a prioritized action register.
We can support budget and bid-stage planning without pretending preliminary assumptions are final. Every estimate, route, method, schedule, and provider commitment remains subject to the level of engineering, cargo, market, and local information available at that phase.

Core EPC Logistics Workstreams
Project Cargo and Out-of-Gauge
Cargo dimensions, weights, center of gravity, lifting and securing requirements, route limitations, handling points, and receiving conditions are converted into a coordinated execution path with qualified technical inputs where required.
Breakbulk, Chartering and Special Transport
OGL coordinates mode selection, carrier or vessel options, consolidation opportunities, interfaces, laydays, cargo sequence, terminal handling, and special inland transport through approved providers and the appropriate OGL or sister-company operating authority.
Air Charter and Schedule Recovery
Where schedule exposure justifies an air solution, OGL coordinates charter feasibility, aircraft and airport constraints, cargo preparation, permits, ground handling, and final delivery as a controlled recovery workstream.
Packing, Preservation and Consolidation
Qualified providers can be coordinated for export packing, crating, barrier protection, marking, consolidation, storage, and material identification based on approved cargo and project requirements.
Customs and Cross-Border Interfaces
OGL coordinates documentation, broker interfaces, routing, import responsibilities, tax or duty information pathways, temporary-import needs, and release milestones with properly authorized parties.
Site Delivery and Handover
Delivery windows, access, equipment, laydown, offloading responsibility, permits, escorts, security, weather, and receiving readiness are aligned before dispatch—not discovered at the gate.
Engineering and Technical Interfaces
OGL manages the logistics interface and coordinates required technical providers. We do not replace the client’s engineer, OEM, heavy-transport engineer, marine warranty surveyor, lift engineer, licensed customs broker, or site authority. Where the contract requires technical documents, OGL establishes the responsibility, due date, review path, and execution hold point.
| OGL Coordinates | Qualified Technical Authority Produces or Approves |
|---|---|
| Collection of verified cargo data | Design calculations and technical acceptance |
| Route and handling information workflow | Route survey, transport engineering, bridge analysis, or permit engineering where required |
| Provider deliverable register | Lift plan, rigging design, securing calculation, method statement, or inspection release |
| Comments, open actions, and schedule impact | Final approval, stamp, certification, or regulatory authorization |
Project Controls That Stay Close to the Cargo
OGL reporting is built around action, not presentation. The agreed control set can include a cargo register, vendor milestone report, document register, readiness forecast, booking and movement status, exception log, decision register, destination plan, and closeout record. Frequency and format are defined in the project execution plan.
When an exception appears, OGL personally contacts the responsible parties, confirms the current fact pattern, identifies available actions, and escalates the decision needed. The client sees the owner, due date, exposure, and next step.

Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers for procurement, project controls, logistics, and site teams evaluating the execution path.
At what stage should OGL join an EPC project?
As early as practical. OGL can support opportunity, bid, planning, procurement, execution, recovery, or closeout phases. The deliverables and confidence level are matched to the information available.
Can OGL provide a logistics study?
OGL can develop a logistics basis, route and mode concepts, supplier and cargo mapping, execution assumptions, and clarification registers. Formal engineering studies or certified technical deliverables are coordinated through qualified providers when required.
Can OGL work under an EPC contractor’s procedures and reporting format?
Yes, subject to review. OGL can align responsibilities, registers, reporting cadence, document controls, escalation, and provider requirements to the approved contract and project execution plan.
-Project Discussion
Bring OGL Into the Project Early.
The earlier we understand your suppliers, cargo, schedule, routes, and site requirements, the more effectively we can identify the workstreams and information needed for execution.
